This is a programmer portfolio I have found for someone who has a good deal of experience in the industry and I really like the layout of their site as its simplistic and has large icons and buttons that make it easy to navigate and get what you want out of it, everything is kept on one page that you can scroll through or use the buttons to navigate and I think this gives the site a seamless feel and makes it very natural to go through. The website isn’t littered with information and is kept clean making it appealing to look at and not just an intimidating block of text
I think the colour scheme works for this site as its relatively dull meaning your attention is drawn to the actual substance of the portfolio though I think it could of benefited from some slightly brighter colours

This is another programmers portfolio website and this one is from someone who has not long left University and begun to work as a junior programmer for Ubisoft and as with the first one the site is kept relatively uncluttered making it easy to navigate which is always a good thing however a difference between the two is this one opens up with an about me which isn’t too long but gives you a good idea of who the person is and what you can expect to find throughout the portfolio. I like the separation of personal projects and professional projects because this gives you a sense of how much a person enjoys their work if they are spending their own time working on projects
I like the colour scheme in this one even less than the first because it feels jarring with the video that is playing in the background and speaking of the video I think its a nice idea however it could of benefited from being in a higher quality. I think I prefer the navigation bar on this design though as its kept simple as the first web page however I feel the black and white with the chosen font looks more professional

This is my favorite portfolio design and this is for a few reasons, firstly I love the simple dark grey/ black colour scheme matched with the white text as it makes it easy to read and is easy on your eyes and the orange hyperlinks and highlighted buttons keep the page having some colour accented in without drawing from the main part of the portfolio, all the projects are clearly displayed and formatted in the same way making them easy to digest all including a small video and three screenshots complimented by a short description of what the project was and there involvement in it
The site is clearly labelled and easy to get around with the navigation bar at the top and as with a common theme with all three they include a resume and contact information, I think of the three designs this is one includes the best of all of them without any of the short comings
Portfolio Website Research

So this is squarespace and it is a very professional looking website builder and it offers me all of the customization options I could want when creating my portfolio however it doesn’t have a free plan for me to create my website and this is an issue as being that I’m only a student I don’t think it will be worth it for me to invest in my portfolio website this early when there are other options that are free and can do a very similar job

This is WIX and it is a very easy to use website designer and has a free plan which still offers a lot of customization that will make it easy to display all of the work I have created and will continue to produce, I really like how user friendly the web page builder is and although it is free it still has a professional look that I can definitely see myself using

This is my web page from my first year at college and I made this on word-press, I like word-press as I have come to understand how to use it very well after being with it for a year and it offers me a lot of customization in terms of what I would like my site to look like and I think its a definite contender for being used as my portfolio however I think it doesn’t look as professional as the aforementioned websites so I think I will use WIX to create my portfolio
